What We Provide

I've been approved, what's next?
If you already applied for and have been accepted by our Product Review Committee (comprised of market members) to sell at Portland Saturday Market.

Orientation Day  All new accepted applicants will attend a 40 minute orientation meeting on their first day of selling at Portland Saturday Market.

Booth Space  The majority of Saturday Market's booths are 8’ x 8’ (8’ x 10’ in the Food Court). Each space north of Ankeny Street is provided with a 500 watt electrical hookup at no extra charge; booths in Ankeny Park have 250 watts of power. Each member provides his or her own booth structure, canopy and display racks. On-site storage space is available for booth storage for a small charge on a first-come-first-served basis.  Booths for sale at Andy & Bax and Canopies by Fred.  A limited number of booths are available to rent from Saturday Market with a credit card deposit.  Call the office for more information 503-222-6072.

Member Services  The Market's goal is to make showing your work in an outdoor setting as enjoyable and convenient as possible. All members have access to free parking close in to the market site on the weekends. You will receive a temporary parking pass at the Information Booth on the first day you sell.  Portland Saturday Market operates a public Information Booth during all market hours, where market staff assists customers by answering questions and directing them to member's booths. Since credit card equipment can be expensive for members, the Market operates a central credit card terminal at the Information Booth (small fee). The Market purchases product bags, stickers and tags with the Market logo in bulk, which are available to members at cost.

A Sense of Community   One of the most difficult parts of trying to make a living from your art or invention is the isolation. We feel that one of the most important parts of the market is that it gives artists and entrepreneurs a chance to come together with others who share common business concerns. As part of building this sense of community and collaboration, each week the Market News is published which is full of information about other events taking place in our area, issues being debated by our Board of Directors, social and business education events taking place at Portland Saturday Market.  In addition, the first weekend of each month the Market News includes a Marketplace section for members to buy, trade & sell craft related items.

In addition, a membership e-newsletter is sent at various times during the year, as well as a Friday email for late updates for the weekend.  make sure you update your email address with the office promptly to ensure you continue to receive these important notices.
